  • Played at UMass under head coach Jack Leaman; had his jersey number #30 retired in 2004
    • Played alongside Rick Pitino, future NBA star Julius Erving and future AL Cy Young winner Mike Flanagan
    • Spent six seasons playing professionally in the NBA/ABA with three different teams
  • First coaching job was as an assistant for Ron Petro at Marist
  • Was an assistant for two seasons at Rhode Island under Tom Penders before taking over as head coach in 1988
    • Went to two NCAA Tournaments and two NITs during his nine-year tenure at URI
  • Hired as the head coach at Boston College in 1997, where he would stay for 13 seasons
  • Coached several future NBA players throughout his career, including Lamar Odom, Cuttino Mobley and Jared Dudley
  • Spent two years as a Bryant assistant to Tim O’Shea, one of his own former assistants, before being hired as head coach at Kennesaw State in 2015
  • Along with his wife, Donna, has one daughter and one son
