Drake’s Niko Medved is headed back to Colorado State

After just one year at Drake, Niko Medved will be the next Colorado State Rams head coach. Medved is 79-88 in five years (59-44 over the last three) as head coach at Drake and Furman.

The hiring marks a return to Fort Collins for Medved, who previously spent six seasons as a CSU assistant (mostly under Tim Miles).

The Colorado State program is looking to rebuild it’s public persona after former head coach Larry Eustachy was fired as a result of investigation into his treatment of Rams players. The familiarity Medved has with the program will certainly go a long way in helping repair that image.

A press conference is planned for Friday morning to officially introduce Medved.
