Todd Lee hired at alma mater South Dakota

Grand Canyon associate head coach Todd Lee is returning to his alma mater, hired as the new head coach at South Dakota. Lee has been at GCU for five years, spending the eight seasons prior as the head coach at Division II Kentucky Wesleyan.

Lee brings much experience to a Coyotes programs looking to maintain the success of former head coach Craig Smith, who was hired last week by Utah State. Smith had the team in back-to-back postseason tournaments – 2017 NIT and 2018 CBI – and won the Summit League regular season title just a year ago.

The team that Lee inherits a roster that should be returning much of it’s production for the past season, including All-Summit League selections Trey Burch-Manning, Tyler Hagedorn and Triston Simpson.
