For citizens who have purchased a HALO BassiNest Flex Morning Mist or Heather Weave model, they may just be eligible for cash payments as part of a newly announced $1.5 million Halo Innovations, Inc. class action settlement. As per this lawsuit, the company was accused of producing bassinets with defect designs that posed a serious concern for parents as the sleep surface was said to tilt.
Halo Innovations has denied any wrongdoing; however, the company has decided to agree to a settlement fee so as to avoid further litigation. Citizens who qualify could receive $30 per product from the $1,5 M settlement deal.
Reason for the settlement
According to the class action lawsuit, allegations were made about the HALO BassiNest Flex Morning Mist and Heather Weave bassinets. It was claimed that due to a design flaw, the sleep surface of these bassinets tilted which could have potentially put many infants at risk. The fear was that the design defect could result in babies rolling onto their sides or stomachs, increasing the risk of breathing obstruction. A further accusation was that HALO Innovations failed to warn customers about this defect or even recall the affected products.
Halo Innovations has agreed to a $1.5 million settlement to resolve the claims. The full sum of the settlement agreement would be used to pay class action members, legal fees, administrative costs, and service awards to the lead plaintiffs.
Determining eligibility for the Halo settlement
This settlement is open to all individuals in the United States who have purchased one or more HALO BassiNest Flex Morning Mist or HALO BassiNest Flex Heather Weave bassinets on or even slightly before February 10, 2025. Details about the issuing of payment
With payments beginning in April, this $350 M settlement agreement is still one that citizens are interested in. However, for the Halo Innovations settlement, claimants will need to wait for a little in order to receive payment. The final court approval hearing is scheduled for October 9, 2025. Only if the court grants final approval will payments to eligible recipients be distributed. Payment is said to be issued approximately 65 days after the final approval. This means eligible recipients should receive their payments by mid-December 2025.
All parents who have purchased one of the affected HALO bassinets should check their receipts or submit a claim without a receipt in order to claim their share of the payment. A completed claim form without the documentation could still see you getting paid. All claims must be submitted by June 10, 2025. The exclusion date for this settlement is also June 10, 2025.
