- Hometown: Jersey City, New Jersey
- Alma Mater: Drexel University (BA, 2007) / Wagner College (M.Ed, 2013)
- Attended Saint Benedict’s Preparatory School in Newark, where he played on the basketball team for head coach Dan Hurley
- Played at Drexel under head coach Bruiser Flint, leading the team in steals and assists in each of his four seasons there
- Returned to his alma mater after graduating from Drexel to be one of Hurley‘s assistants for one season
- Spent two seasons coaching under Chuck Martin at Marist before re-joining Hurley at Wagner in 2010
- At just 28 years of age, Mason took over as Wagner’s head coach in 2012 when Hurley left for Rhode Island
- Won three NEC regular season titles, earned two NIT berths and won conference COY honors in 2016, 2018 and 2021
- Left Wagner in April 2022 to take over as the new head coach at Saint Peter’s in his hometown of Jersey City
