- Hometown: Haddon Heights, New Jersey
- Alma Mater: Rowan University (BA, 1994)
- Graduated from Bishop Eustace HS (NJ) before playing at Division III Rowan (NJ)
- Started his coaching career at alma mater Bishop Eustace and then spent two seasons as an assistant under head coach Herb Magee at D-II Philadelphia
- Spent one season as an assistant under Speedy Morris at La Salle before becoming the head basketball coach at the US Merchant Marine Academy in 1999 (a Division III program)
- Went 39-19 in two seasons with the Mariners, reaching the D-III NCAA Tournament in 2001
- Joined Jay Wright‘s staff at Villanova, working an assistant there for three seasons
- Spent seven seasons as the head coach at Navy of the (Division I) Patriot League
- Led the Midshipmen to a 92-115 record during his tenure but failed to reach the postseason
- Rejoined Wright at Villanova in 2011, spending two more seasons on his staff as associate head coach
- Moved up to the professional ranks in 2013, becoming an assistant with the Philadelphia 76ers under head coach Brett Brown
- Worked with Brown and the Sixers for six seasons, going through “The Process” going from the worst record in the NBA to one of the Eastern Conference’s strongest teams
- Hired in March 2019 to become the head coach at Saint Joseph’s, his first college role since 2013
- Lange is 59-91 over five seasons, improving the Hawks from single-digit wins in the first two years to 21 in year five
