  • Born October 23, 1940
  • Alma Mater: University of San Francisco (BA, 1962)
  • Played basketball at USF under head coaches Ross Giudice and Peter Peletta
  • Started his coaching career in 1968, working as an assistant under Phil Vukicevich at his alma mater
  • Spent eight seasons as the head coach of the Dons, winning five WCC titles and going to the NCAA Tournament five times
    • Also served as the school’s athletic director from 1971 to 1978
  • Left USF in 1978 to work in the private sector, eventually working as the director of sales and advertising for the San Francisco Giants (MLB)
  • Returned to coaching in 1989, taking over as the head basketball coach at Lewis & Clark College in Portland, OR
    • Won five Northwest Conference (NWC) titles in 22 years at Lewis & Clark, the first two when the conference was part of the NAIA Division II and then three more at the NCAA Division III level
    • Reached the NAIA Div II postseason five times and the NCAA Div III Tournament three times
    • Retired in 2011 with 365 wins at Lewis & Clark and 530 wins in his overall coaching career
  • Lives in Scottsdale, AZ with his wife, nearby his son and grandchildren
