Bobby Jackson is welcomed back by the Sacramento Kings as a part of the coaching staff. His career is backed on the favoured moments of the early 2000s era in the franchise. Jackson, once an exceptional player and coach, has rejoined the updated coaching staff, which includes the newly appointed head coach, Doug Christie and veteran coach, Mike Woodson. Implementing new leadership in the Kings, was a great move especially with the credibility of the coaches and connection to the team. With aims to grow in the playoffs, the leadership is a sign of a championship.

Bobby Jackson’s Return to the Sacramento Kings

The Sacramento Kings coaching staff is further extended with the addition of Bobby Jackson who will be taking the position of assistant coach. From leading the Philadelphia 76ers for the past two seasons, he’s career with the Kings only makes sense as he worn the team’s jersey from 2000 to 2005. The five seasons showed great performance from Bobby Jackson, earning him the NBA Sixth Man of the Year award in 2003.

A fast forward to his current position in his career shows the third label as a coach of the Kings, previously being the assistant and another being head coach of the Stockton Kings, the franchise’s team’s G-League affiliate. Joining the staff, Jackson is reunited with his former teammate Doug Christie. Sharing the beautiful connection of growing their former team, the culture of the Sacramento Kings is kept in safe hands, marking a pivotal moment for the Kings.

Doug Christie’s coaching staff restructure

First up on the system, is Bobby Jackson and the former NBA head coach, Mike Woodson.

The 22 years of NBA experience of the latter is exactly what the Kings need and Doug Christie took note of that. The leadership of the two additions marks a great shift in how a competitive roster will be drawn out. Possibly adding BJ Armstrong and Scott Perry, Christie’s staff choices are well thought out and balanced. Joining the Sacramento Kings, Bobby Jackson’s coaching journey started with his assistant coaching role from 2011 to 2013. Promoted to greater leadership and responsibility, Bobby Jackson had the opportunity to gain experience while bringing much impact to the Stockton Kings, Sacramento G-League affiliate in 2021.

Bobby Jackson under the guidance of Nick Nurse of the Philadelphia 76ers, had his role grow as the assistant coaching alongside his knowledge of the NBA which adds to his basketball knowledge and leadership skills. His responsibility in the Sacramento Kings was to be a guide for the younger guards, as the former point guard he was.

The return to the franchise fosters trust and stability in the locker room as his ability to combine his player experience and coaching knowledge to connect and resonate with the athletes. The franchise aiming to improve their position in the NBA and compete in the post season; Doug Christie’s addition of Bobby Jackson will serve greatly in the locker room.
