  • After two years assisting Jim Thorson at South Dakota State, Dutcher began his long-standing partnership with Steve Fisher
    • Spent a total of twenty-seven years working with Fisher, nine at Michigan and eighteen at San Diego State
  • Dutcher had been considered the head-coach-in-waiting at SDSU since 2011 and officially got the position following the retirement of Fisher in 2017
