  • Played at Princeton under head coaches Pete CarrilBill Carmody and was named Ivy League POY as a senior in 1999
    • Left Princeton as the all-time leading three-point shooter in Ivy League history, and led the Tigers to three NCAA Tournament appearances and one trip to the NIT quarterfinals
    • Won 95 games during his player career at Princeton, an Ivy League record
    • Went on to play professionally in Germany, England and the United States (USBL & EBA)
  • Got into coaching in 2007 as an assistant at his alma mater, Princeton, where he later also served as recruiting coordinator
  • Served eights seasons as a Princeton assistant and one as associate head coach, first under Sydney Johnson and then under Mitch Henderson, both of whom were college teammates of his
  • Hired in 2016 to be the head coach at Ivy League foe Cornell; led the Big Red to the 2019 CIT, his third season at the helm
    • In 2022, the Big Red finished fourth in the League and Earl became the first former Ivy POY to be named Ivy League COY
  • Brother, Dan Earl, is also a college basketball coach, currently serving as head coach at Chattanooga
  • Along with his wife, Jennifer, has three sons
