- Alma Mater: Oakland University (BA, 1990) / Michigan State University (MA, 1992)
- Spent five seasons as an assistant at Michigan State to the late Jud Heathcote (1990-1995) and five more as an assistant to Tom Izzo (1995-96, 1999-2003)
- Was also an assistant at Toledo under Stan Joplin and at Northwestern under Kevin O’Neill
- Became the head coach at Dayton in 2003, winning 172 games over eight seasons
- The Flyers went to two NCAA Tournaments and three NITs during Gregory’s tenure and won the 2010 NIT Championship
- Took over at Georgia Tech in 2011, where he was the head coach for five seasons
- Was fired in March 2016 after the Yellow Jackets were eliminated in the NIT quarterfinals
- Returned to Michigan State during the 2016-17 season to work as a consultant with Tom Izzo
- Hired as the new head men’s basketball coach at South Florida in March 2017
- Won the 2019 CBI title in his second season with the Bulls
- Went 79-107 overall in six seasons; got a contract extension in January 2022 but was fired in March 2023
- Along with his wife, Yvette, has two daughters
