- Born October 19, 1956
- Hometown: Milwaukee, Wisconsin
- Alma Mater: UW-Milwaukee (B.Ed., 1978) / Western Kentucky University (M.Ed., 1981)
- Spent eighteen seasons as an assistant at Purdue (and one more at WKU) to legendary head coach Gene Keady
- Hired as the head coach at SIU in 1998, eventually leading the Salukis to the Sweet Sixteen in 2002
- Left for Illinois in 2003, serving as the Illini head coach for nine seasons
- The 2004-05 team finished as NCAA National Runner-up with an overall record of 37-2 and almost completed an undefeated regular season, losing at Ohio State by one in their final game
- Went 210-101 during his tenure in Champaign, appearing in six NCAA Tournaments and one NIT
- Fired from Illinois in 2012 after going 17-15, only the second season with less than 20 wins under Weber
- Became the head coach at Kansas State in March 2012, holding that position for ten seasons
- Led the Wildcats to the NCAA Tournament in each of his first two seasons and five times in total
- Shared two Big 12 regular season titles during his tenure, the first two for the program since the start of the Big 12
- Resigned in March 2022 following three-straight losing seasons; went 184-147 overall
