Several NBA stars are being traded like playing cards this offseason, and the drama has been encapsulated by the record-breaking 7-team trade of Kevin Durant. Now, CBS Sports has gone one further and ranked the potential trade scenarios that each player might face this offseason. Most seasons in the NBA feature players being traded like commodities in the stock market, but this summer has the potential to be the most dramatic in recent NBA history. Every summer, the NBA fans are treated to a ton of possible scenarios for trades that could reshape the landscape of the NBA. Pretty much everyone in earshot of the NBA was aware that Kevin Durant would be traded by the Phoenix Suns this summer. The question was where, as the list of potential destinations read like a travel guide for an American vacation.
KD would make history as he was the nucleus in a record-breaking 7-team trade that sent the 15-time All-Star to Houston. So with KD out of the way, the focus now shifts to the other star players currently in Limbo, like Giannis and LeBron. Giannis, in particular, is the focus of the trade talks taking place at the moment. In a recent interview, Giannis added to the speculation around his future with his answer to the question, Will you be playing for the Bucks next season? He said:
“Probably. We’ll see. I love Milwaukee. Me not having a second championship — I look back at my career, and everybody can say, ‘Oh, incredible career, active Hall of Famer, first ballot, whatever.’ But me, my personal goal, if I am not able to help my team win a second ring, I’m letting down myself.”
The situation is worrying for the Bucks’ loyal fans. However, they have tried to make some moves in order to build, yet again, around Giannis.
