- Hometown: Seminole, Texas
- Alma Mater: University of Texas (BA, 2004)
- Named Texas “Mr. Basketball” in 1999 as a senior at Seminole HS; went on to play at Texas under head coach Rick Barnes
- Started coaching career at UT, serving as a student assistant at Texas while he finished his undergrad
- Spent eleven more years working for Barnes at Texas, four in admin and seven as a full assistant coach for the Longhorns
- Followed Barnes to Tennessee in 2015, spending one season as an assistant with the Volunteers program
- Returned to his home state in 2016, joining head coach Chris Beard‘s first staff at Texas Tech
- Hired in April 2018 to become the head coach at Texas-Arlington
- Went 17-16 in his first season, earning 2019 Sun Belt COY honors, and is 44-47 through three full seasons
- Left UTA in 2021 to reunite with Beard and return to his alma mater as the managing director of Longhorns’ basketball
- Along with his wife, Katie, has three children
