From $100,000 to $140,000 ― Huge change in tax deduction about to be approved

With Wednesday approaching, millions of Americans are looking forward to having a great Wednesday. For some citizens, Wednesday would signify the day that they receive their much-awaited Social Security benefits. Added good news is that on this Wednesday, June 25, 2025, selected citizens could see maximum payments of up to $5,000 reach their bank accounts. Citizens will have to take note of who will be receiving their Social Security benefits this Wednesday and who will be eligible for payments of up to $5,000.

Taking action for delayed payment

All the citizens who have not yet received their Social Security benefits and who are not part of the selected group who will receive their benefits on Wednesday should take action. There is only about a 1% chance that a Social Security payment will not be received on time.

Nevertheless, beneficiaries who think their payments may be delayed should keep this in mind:

  • Always wait for three days, as has been recommended by the Social Security Administration (SSA), before contacting your local SSA office.
  • Check in with your financial institution or bank first, as processing issues could have delayed the payment.
  • Once three days have passed and the bank cannot help. Contact the SSA during working hours.

It may be preferable for many recipients to visit their local SSA office to get the assistance that they seek for delayed payments.

The selected beneficiaries for Wednesday’s payment

As per the Social Security payment schedule, all beneficiaries receiving payments after May 1997 get paid according to when their birth date falls within a specific month. The final payment for the month of June will see beneficiaries born between the 21st and 31st of any month receiving their payment.

Included in this payment round are selected citizens who will also be receiving

  • Social Security retirement benefits
  • Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI)
  • Survivor benefits (based on another person’s work record)

For those Supplementary Security Income (SSI) beneficiaries awaiting their June payment still, they should remember that their June payment was paid out at the end of May due to a calendar quirk and their next payment will be paid out in July. There is no more bad news for Social Security beneficiaries since by Wednesday all recipients even those who had to wait until mid-June to receive payment would have received their payment already.

How much can beneficiaries expect to receive this Wednesday?

It must be noted that each and every beneficiary receives a different Social Security benefit amount. The way this amount gets calculated for each beneficiary is based on their earnings, work history, and eligibility for the benefit.

The maximum Social Security payment will be up to $5,000 and is made up of:

  • The Cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) increase that was implement from January 2025 which saw the average benefit rise to $1,900.
  • Spouses and survivors receiving that survivor benefit could get more especially since both the Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP) and the Government Pension Offset (GPO) were eliminated as per the Social Security Fairness Act.
  • Recipients themselves may see increased payments of up to $1,000 or more due to the fall of the Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP) and the Government Pension Offset (GPO) as a result of the Social Security Fairness Act.
  • Citizens claiming their Social Security benefits at the full retirement age of 70.

Select citizens could receive up to $5,000 this month and while not all beneficiaries will receive this maximum Social Security payment amount, Social Security benefit is still the main source of income for many retirees. Social Security beneficiaries should keep these 3 Social Security mistakes to avoid in mind to ensure that they too reap the most from their Social Security benefit. When it comes to Social Security mistakes, one mistake could cost you thousands.
