Coppin State announced Monday that head basketball coach Michael Grant will not return. The Eagles were just 8-21 (7-7) this season and 25-69 overall during Grant’s three-year tenure.
“It’s been a fun three years,” Grant said. “Honestly, I think it takes a little bit more than three years to build a program, but that’s their choice.”
The news comes less than a year after Coppin State hired Derek Carter as director of athletics. As if often the case in college sports, new ADs tend to want to bring in their own personnel.
