  • Attended Woodrow Wilson HS (OR); named Oregon Player of the Year and was later inducted into the Oregon Sports HOF
  • Played point guard for four seasons with the Arizona Wildcats under Hall of Fame head coach Lute Olson
  • Drafted #7 overall in the 1995 NBA Draft by the Toronto Raptors (the team’s first ever draft pick); was NBA Rookie of the Year
    • Played for four NBA teams over 13-years; played for a number of head coaches, including Brendan Malone, Darrell Walker, Butch Carter, Mike Dunleavy, Maurice Cheeks, Mike Fratello, Tony Barone, Marc Iavaroni & Gregg Popovich
  • Started his coaching career at Rice as director of player development in 2008 under head coach Ben Braun
  • After two years as an assistant for the Memphis Grizzlies, returned to the D-I ranks as an assistant to Memphis’ Josh Pastner
    • Spent three seasons with Pastner (in two stints) and two seasons at Arizona under Sean Miller
  • Hired in March 2016 as the head coach at University of the Pacific
    • Improved the program from 11 wins in his first season to 23 wins in fourth; won WCC COY and the Ben Jobe Award in 2020
  • In July 2021, Stoudamire announced that he was leaving Pacific to become an assistant under friend and fellow Portland-native Ime Udoka with the NBA’s Boston Celtics
  • Is married to the former Natasha Taylor
