  • Alma Mater: Indiana University (BA, 1985)
  • Indiana-native played for the Indiana Hoosiers under legendary head coach Bob Knight
    • Famously guarded Michael Jordan in 1984 Elite Eight, holding MJ to just 13 points in an Indiana victory
  • After graduating in 1985, immediately joined Knight‘s coaching staff as a graduate assistant and then full-time assistant
  • Spent ten years as the head coach at Bowling Green, winning 156 games and one MAC regular season title
    • Accepted the head coaching position at West Virginia in 2002, only to return to Bowling Green after learning of possible recruiting violations by people affiliated with the WVU program
  • Hired in June 2007 to be the Director of Operations for Kelvin Sampson at Indiana
    • Took over as the interim head coach for the last seven games of the season following Sampson‘s resignation
  • Since leaving coaching, Dakich has worked in the media as a TV analyst and radio show host
