  • Alma Mater: Pennsylvania State University (BS, 1997 & MBA, 2007)
  • Earl played at Penn State under head coached Bruce Parkhill and Jerry Dunn
    • Named to the All-Big Ten Second Team as a junior in 1996
    • Played professionally in Germany, Poland and Portugal, as well as stateside in the CBA and NBA D-League
  • Started his coaching career in 2006 as an assistant at alma mater Penn State under head coach Ed DeChellis
  • Followed DeChellis to Navy in 2011, serving as associate head coach for four seasons there
  • Hired in 2015 as the head coach of the VMI Keydets of the SoCon
    • The Keydets went 12-11 (7-7) in 2020-21 and Earl was named SoCon COY both by the coaches and the media
    • Reached the CBI in 2022; went 73-139 over seven seasons at VMI
  • Left VMI in March 2022 to take over as the head coach at SoCon foe Chattanooga
  • Along with his wife, Sheila, has two daughter; his brother, Brian Earl, is currently the head coach at Cornell
