  • Played four seasons at Illinois State under head coach Kevin Stallings, where he was named the 1995 MVC Freshman of the Year and twice named the MVC Defensive Player of the Year (1996, 1997)
    • Part of two regular season & tournament title teams, resulting in NCAA Tournament trips during his junior (1997) and senior year (1998)
    • Spent two seasons playing professional basketball overseas after graduating, one season each in Argentina and Belgium
  • Entered the coaching ranks taking an assistant position under his college coach Stallings at Vanderbilt
    • Served as recruiting coordinator and during his tenure on staff the Commodores went to six NCAA Tournaments and three NITs
  • Took over as the head coach at his alma mater, Illinois State, going 167-150 in just under ten seasons at the helm
    • Led the Redbirds to three postseason appearances – two NIT and one CBI – and in 2017 won a share of the MVC title
    • Notified in February 2022 that he was to be fired; initially was to finish the season but ultimately stepped down
  • Along with his wife, Melissa, has one stepson
