  • Hometown: Corpus Christi, Texas
  • Alma Mater: University of North Texas (BA, 1978)
  • Started coaching career in 1979, assisting Billy Tubbs at Lamar, Gerald Stockton at D-II Midwestern State, Harry Miller at Stephen F. Austin and Gene Iba at Baylor
  • Spent nine seasons as head coach at Incarnate Word, then a NAIA program, where he went 219-52 overall and won three conference COY awards
    • Claimed seven conference titles at IWU – six Heart of Texas and one Heartland – and won four Heart of Texas Tournament championships
  • Returned to Division I in 2000 as the head coach at Stephen F. Austin
    • Won 246 games, went to one NCAA Tournament and two NITs during his thirteen seasons as head coach
  • Became the head coach at Texas State in 2013, leading the Bobcats to the CIT in his fourth season and again in his sixth; he went 119-109 overall in seven seasons at the helm
    • In June 2020, Kaspar went on leave following allegations from a former player of racist remarks made by the coach
    • Three months later, Kaspar officially resigned as the head coach of Texas State
  • Every coaching job Kaspar has had has been with a team based in his home state of Texas
  • Along with his wife, Deborah, has one daughter (a graduate of Texas State)
