  • Played at Kansas for head coach Larry Brown, leading the Jayhawks to the NCAA National Championship in 1988
  • Drafted first overall in the 1988 NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Clippers, where he played for 5+ seasons
    • Won a bronze model with Team USA at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea
    • Played for six NBA franchises over the course of a 15-year career, scoring 12,367 points, dishing 2,063 assists and grabbing 1,000 steals

  • Hired in April 2014 to be the head coach at Wake Forest, leading the Deacs to the 2017 NCAA Tournament in year three
    • Outside of the 2016-17 season, Manning’s teams have finished below .500 every year during his tenure
    • Manning was fired in April 2020 after six seasons at the helm, during which time he went 78-111
  • In 2021, he joined the coaching staff of former KU teammate Mark Turgeon at Maryland
