  • Played two seasons at UNLV under head coach Jerry Tarkanian, then worked one more season as a grad assistant
  • Later became a full-time assistant at UNLV, holding that position for ten seasons under six different permanent or interim head coaches: Tim Grgurich, Howie Landa, Cleveland Edwards, Bill Bayno, Max Good and Charlie Spoonhour
  • Spent one year as an assistant under Stew Morrill at Utah State
  • Served as an associate head coach at BYU for six seasons under Dave Rose before returning to UNLV as head coach
    • Won 98 games and went to two NCAA Tournaments in 4+ years as head coach, before resigning in January 2016
  • Spent one year with Eric Musselman at Nevada as an assistant then four as associate head coach for Mike Hopkins‘ at Washington
  • In August 2023, Rice joined Rick Croy‘s staff at California Baptist as an assistant coach
