- Graduated from Pomona HS (CA), then played at both Kings River CC and Armstrong Atlantic CC
- Finished his degree and career at UC Davis, where he played for head coach Bob Williams
- Started coaching in 2000, spending one year as an assistant at UC Davis under Brian Fogel
- Spent time as an assistant at Loyola Marymount (under Steve Aggers), Portland State (under Heath Schroyer) and Nevada (under Mark Fox) before joining Herb Sendek‘s staff at Arizona State in 2006
- Elevated to associate head coach in 2010, remaining in that role for three more seasons
- Was part of one NCAA Tournament and three NITs while at ASU
- Became the head coach at Cal State Fullerton in April 2013
- Improved from 11 and 9 wins in his first two seasons to 20 wins, a Big West Tournament title and NCAA berth in year five
- Returned to the NCAA Tournament in 2022 by way of a second Big West Tournament crown
- Signed a contract extension in August 2022 to stay with Fullerton through the 2025-26 season
