• Alma Mater: Santa Clara University (BA, 1955)
• Garibaldi was a star prep athlete, playing football, basketball and baseball at Stockton HS (CA)
• Focused on basketball at Santa Clara, playing for head coach Bob Feerick
  • Was part of the Broncos’ team that reached the NCAA Final Four in 1952
  • Earned All-WCAC (now WCC) honors in 1957; inducted into the Santa Clara Athletic HOF in 1969
• Later became head coach of the Broncos in 1962, leading the program to a 137-77 record over eight seasons
  • Built SCU into a postseason regular, going to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen in each of his last three seasons
  • Won the WCC title and was named WCC COY in each of those three years (1968-70), going 73-12 overall
• Nearly took the Oregon State head coaching job in 1970 but instead accepted a non-coaching job with Converse
