  • Hometown: Grand Rapids, Michigan
  • Alma Mater: Morehead State University (BA, 1993) / Louisiana State University (MA, 2000)
  • After starting at Iowa Central CC, Tyndall played three seasons at Morehead State for head coaches Tommy Gaither and Dick Fick
  • Was the head coach at St. Catharine JC (KY) for the 1996-97 season, going 30-5 overall
  • Spent time assisting John Brady at LSU, Leonard Perry at Idaho and Kermit Davis at Middle Tennessee before becoming head coach at Morehead State
    • Took the Eagles to the NCAA Tournament twice in six years thanks to two Ohio Valley Tournament titles
  • Subject of NCAA investigation in 2015-16 surrounding improper financial aid and academic issues that occurred during his tenure at Southern Miss
    • Was fired by Tennessee after one season when the school learned of the allegations, despite the violations being at Southern Miss only
    • Placed under a ten-year show-cause penalty by the NCAA as a result of the violations
  • Became an assistant under Jerry Stackhouse with the Raptors 905, the Toronto Raptors’ affiliate in the NBA G League
  • After two seasons with the 905, Tyndall became an assistant under Ryan Krueger with the Grand Rapids Drive
  • Elevated to head coach of the Drive, the Detroit Pistons’ affiliate in 2019; went 25-18 in the pandemic-shortened 2019-20 season
  • Returned to the collegiate ranks in June 2020, becoming the head coach at Chipola JC in Marianna, FL
    • Through three seasons, Tyndall is 82-16 overall and has twice reached the NCJAA D-II Final Four
