  • Hometown: Cotton County, Oklahoma
  • Alma Mater: Oklahoma Agricultural and Mechanical College (BA, 1946)
  • Played at Oklahoma A&M (now State) under Hall of Fame head coach Henry Iba
  • Spent one year coaching Shawnee (OK) HS, then played for Harold Olsen the NBA’s Chicago Stags
  • In 1947, Parrack was hired as the head coach at Oklahoma City (then a D-I Independent)
    • Went 80-53 over five seasons, going to four NCAA Tournaments, including one Sweet Sixteen
  • Left OCU in 1955 to take over the Oklahoma program, coaching the Sooners for seven seasons
    • Was 71-97 during his tenure, but did not reach the postseason
  • Spent eight years as an assistant coach at his alma mater under Iba until the latter’s retirement in 1970
  • Was the first coach of the Israeli National Basketball team, coaching them in Germany in 1972
  • Coached the Oklahoma women’s team from 1978-80, going 30-32 during that tenure
    • Retired from coaching in 1980 after over 30 years in basketball
  • After coaching, Parrack worked as a probation officer with the Oklahoma City Juvenile Bureau
  • Inducted into the OCU Sports Hall of Fame, OSU Athletics Hall of Honor and OSU College of Education HOF
    • A clock tower at Oklahoma City University was named in his honor
  • Died in 2008 at the age of 86; survived by his wife, Charlotte, their two daughters and two sons
