Doyle Kenneth Parrack

Alma Mater: Oklahoma Agricultural and Mechanical College (BA, 1946)
Played at Oklahoma A&M (now State) under Hall of Fame head coach Henry Iba
- Was part of the Cowboys’ 1945 NCAA Championship team
Spent one year coaching Shawnee (OK) HS, then played for Harold Olsen the NBA’s Chicago Stags
In 1947, Parrack was hired as the head coach at Oklahoma City (then a D-I Independent)
- Went 80-53 over five seasons, going to four NCAA Tournaments, including one Sweet Sixteen
Left OCU in 1955 to take over the Oklahoma program, coaching the Sooners for seven seasons
- Was 71-97 during his tenure, but did not reach the postseason
Spent eight years as an assistant coach at his alma mater under Iba until the latter’s retirement in 1970
Was the first coach of the Israeli National Basketball team, coaching them in Germany in 1972
Coached the Oklahoma women’s team from 1978-80, going 30-32 during that tenure
- Retired from coaching in 1980 after over 30 years in basketball
After coaching, Parrack worked as a probation officer with the Oklahoma City Juvenile Bureau
Inducted into the OCU Sports Hall of Fame, OSU Athletics Hall of Honor and OSU College of Education HOF
- A clock tower at Oklahoma City University was named in his honor
Died in 2008 at the age of 86; survived by his wife, Charlotte, their two daughters and two sons
