- Four-year player (three-year starter) at The Citadel under head coach Randy Nesbit
- Achieved rank of Lt. Colonel in the Corps of Cadets, highest rank held by a basketball player in the modern era at The Citadel
- Was an assistant at NC State under Les Robinson (who recruited him to The Citadel) and at VMI and Furman under Joe Cantafio
- Spent three seasons as the head men’s basketball coach at D-II Francis Marion, going 41-40 overall
- Returned to Division I in 2000 as Director of Basketball Operations for Buzz Peterson at Tulsa, following Peterson to Tennessee the following year where he was on the Vols’ staff for four seasons
- Spent one more year on Peterson‘s staff at Coastal Carolina before being hired at his alma mater in 2006
- Hired as Tulane’s head coach in 2010 following four seasons (w/ one CIT berth) at The Citadel
- Let go by Tulane following the 2015-16 season, his sixth year at the school
- Led the Green Wave to one CIT and one CBI berth during his tenure, winning 92 total games
- Joined Richard Pitino‘s staff at Minnesota in September 2016 as lead assistant coach; elevated to associate head coach in 2020
- Hired in April 2021 to be an associate head coach under Jerry Stackhouse at Vanderbilt
- Returned to the Citadel in March 2022 for a second stint as the Bulldogs’ head coach
