- As a player at Rutgers, helped lead the Scarlet Knights to the 1976 NCAA Final Four
- Inducted into the Rutgers Athletics Hall of Fame in 1980
- Drafted in the second round (33rd overall) of the 1977 NBA Draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers
- Played in the NBA for the Cavaliers, New Jersey Nets, Los Angeles Lakers and Portland Trail Blazers
- Won an NBA Championship in 1982 as a member of the Lakers
- Began his coaching career at Boston College in 1986, spending two seasons as an assistant under Jim O’Brien
- Returned to Rutgers in 1988 and spent three seasons working with the Knights under head coach Bob Wenzel

- Went 29-68 in three seasons at Rutgers, including the program’s first two years as a member of the Big Ten
- Fired in March 2016 after the Scarlet Knights completed the 2015-16 season at 7-25 (1-17)
- Hired by Steve Clifford as an assistant coach with the Charlotte Hornets for the 2017-18 season
