- Alma Mater: Wayne State University (BA, 2000) / Iowa State University (MS, 2008)
- Played basketball at Wayne State (NE), where the program was led by future D-I head coach Greg McDermott
- Began his coaching career at his alma mater, serving as an assistant under Rico Burkett for two years
- Then coached the girls’ basketball team at Wayne Community HS (NE) for two seasons
- Spent three years on McDermott‘s staff at Iowa State, first as a graduate assistant and then as a learning specialist
- Returned to the HS ranks in 2009, spending five years coaching at Burlington Catholic HS in Wisconsin
- During that tenure, he also had stints as the school’s principal and athletic director
- Moved back to D-I basketball, working on David Richman‘s staff at North Dakota State for two seasons
- Arrived at South Dakota State in 2016, spending three seasons as an assistant under T.J. Otzelberger
- Was on the staff for the Jackrabbits’ back-to-back Summit League titles in 2018 and 2019
- Promoted to head coach in March 2019, following Otzelberger’s departure to UNLV
- Led the Jackrabbits to a Summit League title in his first year and was named conference COY
- Followed that with another Summit crown in years two and three, making five-straight and eight in ten years for the program; reached the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 2022 after winning the Summit League Tournament
- The 2021-22 Jackrabbits were perfect in Summit play and won 30 games for the first time in program history
- Along with his wife, Alicia, has three sons and one daughter
