  • The RI-native stayed home and played for the Rams and head coach Frank Keaney
    • Led all of Division I in scoring as a sophomore in 1943-44
    • Played for the 1945-46 Rams team that finished as NIT Runner-Up
  • Played for three years in the BAA (precursor to the NBA) for the Providence Steamrollers
    • Led the league in assists in 1946-47 and was named Second Team All-BAA
  • Later returned to his alma mater and spent eleven years as the Rams’ head coach
  • Calverly is a member of the URI Sports HOF, Rhode Island Sports HOF and New England Sports HOF
