  • Frank J. Hill, Sr.
  • Throughout much of his career, Hill was coaching more than one team at the same time
  • He started off at Seton Hall in 1911, coaching the Pirates for 19 seasons until 1930
    • During that time (in 1915), he also took over as the head coach at future rival Rutgers
    • Until 1930, Hill coached both the Pirates and Scarlet Knights and then after, spent an additional 13 seasons (28 in total) as the head coach at Rutgers
  • On top of his collegiate duties, Hill also coached at St. Benedict’s Prep (NJ) and Seton Hall Prep (NJ)
    • There were times in his career that he served as the head coach at all four schools at the same time
  • Went 192-75 at Seton Hall and 223-160 at Rutgers; won the first Middle Three regular season title with the Knights in 1943
    • Is a member of both the Seton Hall Hall of Fame (c/o 1977) and Rutgers Hall of Fame
  • Outside of coaching, Hill served as an official and worked in that capacity during 16 NCAA Final Fours
