  • Alma Mater: University of Wisconsin (BS, 2005) / Iowa State University (MA, 2010)
  • Owens graduated from Washington HS in Milwaukee then played at Wisconsin for head coaches Brad Soderberg and Bo Ryan
  • Started out as a student assistant for Ryan at Wisconsin and later worked for one seasons each as an assistant coach at D-II Adams State (CO) and as a graduate assistant under Greg McDermott at Iowa State
  • Became a full-time D-I assistant coach in 2009, joining Wayne Tinkle‘s staff at Montana; he stayed with the Bobcats for four seasons and then spent one season working under Craig Robinson at Oregon State
  • Left OSU in 2014 and was hired as an assistant under Dick Hunsaker at Utah Valley, and then after one year moved East to join Bill Carmody‘s staff at Holy Cross; was part of HC’s surprise run to the NCAA Tournament in 2016
  • Spent one year on Tavaras Hardy‘s staff at Loyola (MD) and then returned to his home state to be an assistant under new Green Bay head coach Will Ryan, the son of his former UW coach Bo Ryan
  • In May 2024, Owens was hired to be the head boys’ basketball coach at Kimberly HS (WI)
