- Alma Mater: Mississippi Valley State University (BA, 1988) / Jackson State University (MA, 1991)
- Played four seasons of basketball at MVSU under longtime head coach Lafayette Stribling
- Named SWAC Co-POY in 1987, Ivory was later inducted into the MVSU Athletics Hall of Fame (c/o 2006)
- Started coaching in 1988 as a grad assistant – and later full-time assistant – with the Jackson State women’s team
- Returned to MVSU in 1998 to spend four seasons on Stribling‘s staff as an assistant coach
- His first stint at Arkansas-Pine Bluff was a four-season run as one of Van Holt’s assistants
- Spent one year each assisting Larry Wright (Grambling) and James Green (MVSU)
- Hired in 2008 to be the head coach at Arkansas-Pine Bluff, a position he held for 13 seasons
- Took the Golden Lions to their first-ever NCAA Tournament in 2010, by way of a SWAC Tournament title
- Ivory resigned in April 2021, citing fatigue related to the pandemic; was officially 127-269 overall at UAPB
- Returned to alma mater MVSU in August 2021 in an administrative role as the Director of Alumni Relations
- Stepped in to coach the Delta Devils for the last three games of the 2021-22 season, going 0-3
- In March 2022, Ivory was officially hired to be the head coach at his alma mater
- Inducted into the SWAC Hall of Fame in 2019 for his contributions as a player and coach
