Great Alaska Shootout Champions

Full list of Great Alaska Shootout champions, including head coach, by year. The Great Alaska Shootout was an early season Division I men’s college basketball tournament that was held annually in late November from 1978 through 2017. Eight mid- and high-major programs would meet in Alaska to play a bracketed tournament and crown a champion. Teams that lost went into a consolation bracket, so every team was guaranteed to play in three games. Tournament games were hosted at Buckner Fieldhouse (1978-82), Sullivan Arena (1983-2013) and Alaska Airlines Center (2014-17), all in Anchorage, AK.
