  • Hometown: Virginia Beach, Virginia
  • Alma Mater: Hampden-Sydney College (BA, 1996) / University of Virginia (JD, 1999)
  • Played for Tony Shaver at D-III Hampden-Sydney (VA); helped lead the Tigers to two NCAAs and was team captain as a senior
  • Went on to Virginia to earn a law degree, returning to Hampden-Sydney to spend one year as an assistant under Shaver in 1999
  • Spent the next sixteen years in the private sector in Houston, founding an oil and gas company, working as CFO of an investment firm and serving as a partner in a law firm
    • Was also the head coach for several high-profile AAU programs in the Houston area
  • Returned to college basketball in 2016 as the director of recruiting/program development under Ryan Odom at UMBC
    • Was on the staff in March 2018 when UMBC became the first 16-seed to defeat a 1-seed (Virginia) in NCAA Tournament history
  • Hired a few days later to be the new head coach at Longwood in Farmville, VA
