- Played basketball, baseball and football at St. Louis University HS (MO), graduating in 1942
- Went on the SLU, where he played baseball and basketball for a year before joining the US Marines in 1943
- Returned to campus after WWII to finish his playing career and college degree
- In basketball, Raymonds was All-MVC in 1946 and won a NIT title in 1948 playing for Eddie Hickey
- Started his coaching career at his alma mater St. Louis University HS, leading the basketball team for five years
- Went 108-23 overall, winning a Missouri state title in 1952 and finishing as runner-up a year later
- For his playing and coaching contributions, Raymonds was inducted into the school’s Sports Hall of Fame
- Hired to be the head basketball coach at NAIA Christian Brothers in Memphis, TN in 1955
- Was 110-50 in six seasons at the helm, going to the NAIA Tournament in both 1959 and 1960
- Reunited with Hickey in 1961, joining his staff at Marquette as an assistant coach
- After three years, Al McGuire took over as head coach and Raymonds stayed on for another 13 seasons (16 total)
- Part of nine NCAA Tournaments and three NITs during his time as an assistant, highlighted by Marquette’s 1977 NCAA National Championship and 1970 NIT Championship teams
- Named head coach and athletic director at Marquette in 1977, coaching the basketball program for the six years
- Compiled a 126-50 record overall, going to the NCAA Tournament five times and NIT once
- Won at least 18 games in each season and won 22+ three times while head coach
- Stopped coaching in 1983 but continued to serve as athletic director until his retirement in 1987
- Named assistant coach (and eventual Hall of Famer) Rick Majerus as his replacement
