  • Alma Mater: Otterbein College (BA, 1924) / University of Michigan (MA, 1939)
  • Lettered in football, baseball, basketball and track at Akron Central HS (OH), before going on to do the same at Otterbein College in Columbus, OH
    • Earned eleven letters at Otterbein, three each in football, baseball and basketball and two in track
  • Was a teacher and coach at Wauseon HS and Toledo Waite HS early in his career
  • Spent eight seasons as the head coach at Toledo, winning 142 games and finishing 4th in the 1942 NIT
  • Left Toledo for Bowling Green in 1942, coaching the Falcons for the next 21 years
    • Went to the postseason nine times (three NCAA, six NIT) and won 367 games in total
    • Also served as the University’s athletic director from 1942-1965
    • From 1960-2011, Bowling Green played its home games on campus at Anderson Arena, named in the coach’s honor
  • In addition to the Naismith and College Basketball HOF honors (see above), Anderson was also inducted into both the Toledo Athletic and Bowling Green Athletic Halls of Fame
