• Alma Mater: Connecticut Agricultural College (BA, 1926)
• Played at UConn (then CAC) under head coach Sumner Dole, helping the Huskies win the 1926 New England title
• Was later the head coach at his alma mater, leading the Huskies for more than 16 years
  • Won 286 games during that tenure, claimed 12 Yankee conference titles and appeared in the NCAA Tournament seven times
• Passed away in January 1963 after suffering a massive heart attack, 10 games into the 1962-63 season (the Huskies would go on to win the Yankee title again and reach the NCAA Tournament under interim head coach George Wigton, one of Greer’s assistants)
