- Hometown: Pascagoula, Mississippi
- Alma Mater: Northeast Louisiana University (BA, 1995)
- The MS-native started his college career at Mississippi Gulf Coast CC (1988-90) before spending one season (1990-91) playing at Texas A&M for head coach Kermit Davis
- Finished his career at Northeast Louisiana (now UL-Monroe), where he played for longtime head coach Mike Vining
- Began coaching in 1997, spending two years as an assistant at Pearl River CC (MS) and one at alma mater Pascagoula HS (MS)
- After two years at Okaloosa-Walton CC in Florida, Brown joined John Pelphrey‘s staff at South Alabama in 2002
- During Brown’s time there, the Jaguars won two Sun Belt titles and went to the 2006 NCAA Tournament
- Followed Pelphrey to Arkansas in 2007, working with the Razorbacks for the next three seasons
- Spent one year as John Brady‘s associate head coach at Arkansas State, then was an assistant under Mike White at Florida for three years
- Arrived at Wichita State in 2014, spending the next six seasons working as one of Gregg Marshall‘s assistant coaches
- During that time, the Shockers went to four NCAA Tournaments, one NIT and won four MVC titles
- Was also on staff when the program transitioned from the MVC to the high-major AAC in 2017
- In November 2020, Brown was named the interim head coach for the 2020-21 season following Marshall’s resignation
- Brown signed a five-year contract in February as he led the Shockers to an AAC title in his first year; named AAC COY
- Went 48-34 overall in three full seasons at the helm; was fired in March 2023 following a 17-15 record
