  • The Virginia-native was a four-year player and two-year starter for head coaches Bart Bellairs and Duggar Baucom at VMI
    • Was team captain as a senior in 2006-07, helping the Keydets to their best win total (14) in a decade
  • Started out his coaching career with a one-year stint under Bret Campbell at Tennessee-Martin before returning to his alma mater in 2008, serving as an assistant for the next four years under Baucom
  • Spent two years working with the Siena women’s basketball team as an assistant under Ali Jaques (2012-14)
  • Reunited with Baucom in 2016, becoming his director of basketball ops at VMI’s SoCon rival, The Citadel
    • Worked with the Bulldogs for six seasons in total, moving up to assistant in 2017 and associate head coach in 2021
  • Hired by new Fairleigh Dickinson head coach Tobin Anderson as an assistant coach in 2022
    • Was part of the FDU team that shocked the world in the 2023 NCAA Tournament, upsetting 1-seed Purdue in the Round of 64
  • After the season, Anderson left for Iona and Castleberry was promoted to head coach a day later
