- Alma Mater: University of Nebraska (BA, 1997)
- The Lincoln-native was an administrative assistant for five seasons at Nebraska, coached by Danny Nee
- Spent three seasons as an assistant at Tyler JC (TX) before joining Neil Dougherty‘s staff at TCU in 2002
- Was the head coach of Rander Cimbria, a professional team in Denmark, for two seasons (2003 and 2004)
- Returned to the States and had assistant coaching stints at McNeese State (under Tic Price), North Texas (under Johnny Jones), Louisiana-Lafayette (under Robert Lee) and with the Fort Worth Flyers and Rio Grande Valley Vipers of the NBA D-League
- After one season at NAIA Bellevue (NE), Steadman was hired by Dan Hipsher at UTPA in 2014 (UTPA merged with UT-Brownsville in 2015 to become UTRGV); worked as an assistant there for nearly five seasons – two under Hipsher and three under Lew Hill
- In February 2021, following Hill’s tragic and unexpected passing, Steadman was named acting head coach of the Vaqueros
- Left UTRGV after the season and became an assistant under Richard Barron at Maine in the America East
- Got a second interim head coaching opportunity in February 2022 after Barron and Maine parted ways
