  • Alma Mater: Middle Tennessee State University (BA, 2003)
  • Shulman’s uncle is long-time college basketball coach John Shulman, currently the head coach at Central Arkansas
  • Got started in coaching at the AAU level in Tennessee at just 16 years old, and then in 1998 launched his own AAU program – Midstate Ballerz Elite AAU in Nashville – which he ran for 10 years
    • Won 415 games and three state championships; coached future collegiate players like Scotty Hopson and Jarvis Varnado
  • Became an assistant at East Mississippi CC in 2007, working under head coach Mark White for three seasons
  • Hired in 2010 to be the head coach at Eastern Florida State College (then known as Brevard CC)
    • Went 346-107 over fourteen seasons, building a powerhouse program that won eleven different conference titles
    • Won nine conference coach of the year awards and in 2023 was inducted into the Florida College System Activities Association HOF
  • Got his first D-I job in March 2024, when he was hired to take over at Tennessee-Martin out of the OVC
