- Hometown: Levittown, New York
- Alma Mater: State University of New York at Geneseo (BA, 1995)
- Started his coaching career with a five-year tenure as associate head coach and freshman head coach at St. Dominic HS in Oyster Bay, NY; Fox was also a teacher at the school and served as athletic director for one year
- Fox was also the director and head coach of the Long Island Lightning AAU club
- Moved up to the college ranks in 2001 when he was hired as an assistant coach by Bob McKillop at Davidson
- After eleven seasons as an assistant, Fox was elevated to associate head coach for two years
- Was on the Davidson staff during the memorable career of Wildcat player (and future NBA champion and league MVP) Stephen Curry
- In 2014, Fox was hired by Appalachian State to be the head coach of the Mountaineers
- Fired in March 2019 after going 56-99 over his five years there
