- Reached the NCAA Tournament seven times (including two Sweet Sixteens) and the NIT once
- Ohio U has the “Jim Snyder Award,” which is given annually to the player who best personifies what Snyder stood for in “character, academics, sportsmanship and attitude;” throughout his career, Snyder was known to peers as “Gentleman Jim”
- Inducted into the Ohio University Athletics Hall of Fame (c/o 1967) and Ohio Basketball Hall of Fame (c/o 2007)
