Every year since 2012, CollegeInsider.com has awarded the Joe B. Hall National Coach of the Year Award (or simply, Joe B. Hall Award) to recognize the top first-year head coach from the Division I college basketball coach season. The award is named after the late Joe B. Hall, a long-time assistant at Kentucky who took over the Wildcats program in 1972 and won the NCAA National Championship in 1978.
