- Hometown: Wichita Falls, Texas
- Alma Mater: Abilene Christian University (BA, 1999)
- Played four seasons at then-Division II Abilene Christian under head coaches Tony Mauldin and Shanon Hays
- Started coaching in 2000, spending one season as an assistant at South Garland HS (TX) and one season at Seminole JC (OK)
- Went 33-24 in two seasons as the head coach at Sachse HS (TX)
- First joined the staff at his alma mater ACU in 2005, spending three seasons as an assistant under Jason Copeland
- Spent three years as an assistant under Steve Shields at Arkansas-Little Rock before returning to ACU as head coach in 2011
- Helped guide the program into D-I play in 2013; led program to its first-ever D-I postseason with a trip to the 2018 CIT
- Led ACU to a Southland Tournament crown, earning the program its first trip to the Division I NCAA Tournament
- Returned to the NCAA Tournament in 2021 by way of another Southland Tournament title
- In April 2021, Golding was announced as the new head coach of the UTEP Miners
