  • Alma Mater: State University of New York at Oswego (BA, 1987 & MA, 1989)
  • Prepped at Half Hollow Hills West HS (NY) and then was a four-year letterman at SUNY Oswego
  • Started his coaching career at Comsewogue HS on Long Island, serving as head coach for three seasons
  • Joined Jay Wright‘s staff at Hofstra in 1994, staying there for three years
  • Originally worked at Villanova under Steve Lappas, but stayed on staff in 2001 when Wright came to take over the program
  • First head coaching opportunity came in 2003, when Jones was hired to be the head coach at Columbia
    • Led the Lions for seven seasons, but finished with a winning record just once and never surpassed .500 in Ivy League play
  • Spent one year as the associate head coach under Steve Donahue at Boston College before getting another head coaching shot
  • Hired in 2011 to take over the Boston University men’s team, then a member of the America East
  • Older brother is James Jones, who has been the head men’s basketball coach at Yale since 1999
