  • Alma Mater: Belhaven College (BS, 1976) / Mississippi State University (M.Ed., 1977)
  • Played at Belhaven College in Jackson, MS, twice earning All-Southern States Conference honors and since inducted into the Belhaven Athletic HOF
  • Spent one season as a grad assistant at Mississippi State under Kermit Davis, Sr. while earning his master’s degree in education
  • Spent five seasons as head coach at Crowley HS in his home state of Mississippi before returning to MSU in 1982; spent the next eight seasons as a full-time Bulldogs assistant, first under Bob Boyd and then under Richard Williams
  • After one season as an assistant to Tim Floyd at New Orleans, Brady was hired as the Samford head coach in 1992; he would go 89-77 in six seasons as the Bulldogs’ head coach
  • Left in 1997 for LSU, where he would spend nearly eleven seasons as the Tigers head coach and lead the team to four NCAA Tournaments including an improbable run to the 2006 NCAA Final Four
    • 2006 team featured 3 future NBA players: Tyrus Thomas, Glen “Big Baby” Davis and Garrett Temple
  • Fired mid-season from LSU in February 2008, but soon after was hired to be head coach at Arkansas State
  • Resigned in 2016 after 8 seasons as ASU head coach, winning the Sun Belt West division twice but never reaching a postseason tournament
  • Hired as a special assistant coach at Baton Rouge CC (LA) in August 2023
