- Alma Mater: University of Oregon (BA, 1928)
- The Oregon-native played football for the Ducks in 1926 and 1927 for head coach John McEwan
- First gig was as the head basketball coach at Astoria HS (OR), where he won state titles in 1934 and 1935
- Hired in 1935 to be the freshman coach at Oregon, coaching two of his former Astoria stars – Bobby Anet and Wally Johansen – in his first year; those two would go on to lead the Ducks to the 1939 NCAA title (coached by Howard Hobson)
- Also coached the freshman football team from 1936-41 and for the 1942, served as the Ducks’ head coach (2-6 record)
- Spent five total seasons as the head basketball coach at Oregon, going 87-76 overall (1944-45, 1947-51)
- His first Ducks’ team went 30-15 (11-5), won the 1945 PCC title and played in the NCAA Tournament
- After coaching, Warren owned and operated a sporting good store until his death in 1981
- Suffered a heart attack in February 1981 while on vacation in Mexico and passed away in March at age 76
